Problem

You have integrated a bar code label in an E-WMS process but the label is not printed.

Conditions:

• the label should have been printed during a process step from an E-WMS Control Center or E-WMS service (so: not printed from a hand terminal for SKU - or Serial/batch labels)
  Using this method, E-WMS uses 'ActiveX' BarTender integration.
  
  
• you are using Windows 8 or higher

Symptoms:

• The Windows application event log shows error "The requested operation requires elevation":
  
    
  
• The Windows system event log shows error "Unable to start a DCOM Server" and "error 740" :
  
  

Cause

The Windows properties of (the shortcut to) the BarTender application (default in: C:\Program Files (x86)\Seagull\BarTender Suite\bartend.exe) was changed for another compatibility mode and/or to 'run as Administrator':

Solution

Remove the non-default shortcut properties for Bartend.exe:

It may also be required to disable Windows UAC.
